A Note From Our Founders

For a long time, my life made sense on paper.

I spent years in banking — building teams, leading institutions, chasing outcomes. It was demanding work, meaningful in many ways, and it taught me discipline, stewardship, and responsibility. I’m grateful for that chapter. But somewhere along the way, I found myself succeeding at something that no longer felt like me.

Julie reminded me that the life we were building left little room for the things that mattered most. She has always had a gift for noticing beauty, warmth, and intention — and for asking the harder question of why we were doing any of it in the first place.

Moonfly was born out of those conversations - our way of building something slower, more human, and more tangible — together.

This is not a departure from where we began.

Why We Chose Moonfly?

Moonfly is a Southern word for a firefly — the small, steady light that appears on warm nights when the world finally slows down.

We chose the name because it reflects what we believe coffee should be: unhurried, human, and quietly meaningful.

Moonfly Coffee is rooted in the South, shaped by community, honoring craft, and the belief that small things done with care can bring real light into everyday life — warm, steady, and shared.
